Biography

Tankei recognizes the importance of "pursuit of calligraphy principles" which could be researched through the calligraphy.
Nevertheless, Tankei further explores the abstraction of calligraphy by promoting the inspiration of "Calligraphy Art."
Tankei looks for the universal human dignity and gives expression to its distinguished beauty by asking the nature of "heaven and earth" which creates all things in
the universe and a sense of love.

Tankei, Talking
Modern calligrapher Tankei Maruyama started calligraphy at the age of 3. She stresses the importance of learning the fundamentals of classic Japanese calligraphy and advocates the use of the best brushes Sumi inks and, properly aged paper to create her abstract works. Ms.Maruyama studied under the guidance of the renowned Kakei Fujita, whom she acknowledges as her paragon and spiritual mentor, as well as at the Japan Institute of Calligraphic Arts. Although she professes not to be a Christian, she is certain that there is some universal power which directs her lie and work. She credits her ability to "create something out of nothing" to the strong spiritual guidance she receives in the form of love from God, thus she is able to express Love and Blessing, which bring serenity to her viewers’ hearts. She seeks to share her search for these universal qualities to human life through her expressive beautiful writing. Since 1989 she has exhibited her works yearly in Japan and foreign locales such as Hong Kong, Frankfurt, Paris, and New York.

Because heart send blood off with the beating,
I shrink regularly, and spread.
In addition, it is the sound.
In addition, I shake that you shiver, and a feeling or an article work, and move it.
The rhythm that drums play is feeling like it.
The accent of the high-pitched tone that low tone howls by a kick, and is free with both hands.
The boom (Sus Teen) of the cymbals of the most high-pitched tone gives depth.
Classical music does not have drums, but underlying rhythm is shown off by the baton of the leader.
The people feel the wave for the five senses and are a work stimulating a heartthrob.
